School Social Work Intern

Hannah West has been part of the Walden School community since its founding. A Utah native, she finds joy in the outdoors—hiking, camping, scuba diving, and spending time with her dogs.

She holds a Bachelor of Integrated Studies with a minor in Psychology from Utah State University and recently completed a year of clinical and preparatory coursework for graduate study in social work. Hannah has been accepted into Utah Valley University’s competitive Master of Social Work (MSW) program and currently serves as Walden’s Social Work Intern, supporting student well-being and social-emotional growth.

Her academic interests include Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, and the Liberal Arts. She has taught high school Social Studies and is passionate about education, mentorship, and youth development. Hannah is a dedicated chaperone for Walkabout and school trips and deeply values student connection and growth.

She also spent eight summers volunteering with the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop, contributing as a photojournalist in countries such as India, Turkey, Ecuador, and South Africa. These experiences continue to inform her commitment to social justice and cultural awareness.

At the core of her work is a lifelong dedication to student autonomy, dignity, and voice. She is excited to focus her energy on empowering and supporting students through a social work lens.
