Walden’s Student and Classroom Management Policy works hand in hand with our Behavioral Policy to foster a safe, positive learning environment for our students.

At Walden, we know that most often a student’s lack of engagement or behavioral issues come from sentiments of discouragement. To address this underlying problem, Walden’s classrooms are designed democratically to create collaborative learning spaces where every student, regardless of their ability, has an opportunity to have a voice, to feel included and valued, and to find success. This model, in turn, encourages students to work together with their instructors and peers in shaping classroom management and outcomes.

In addition to developing classroom management that includes students in its creation, instructors are directed to consider a student’s particular situation and to work with the respective student towards individually appropriate solutions.

When a case requires support outside the classroom resources are available from the specific program directors and team leaders.
