Walden’s finances are managed by a team of administrators and business professionals and are audited annually by an impartial private sector CPA firm. A five-member Finance Committee approves purchases, develops preliminary budgets for board approval, writes grants and submits financial reports to the Utah State Board of Education and Utah State Auditor. Walden is proud to have an 18-year record of sound financial management and compliance. Our current finance committee includes Executive Director, Lois Bobo, Ph.D., High School Director, Hannah West, Middle School Director and Human Resources Coordinator, Sharon Beecroft, Facilities Manager, Peter Andersson, and Superintendent/Business Manager, Diana West, Ph.D.

Business Manager
Diana West, Ph.D. has served as Walden’s business manager since July, 2015. As former business manager for Utah Film & Video, a long-time K-12 and university instructor, and Walden’s first executive administrator, Diana brings a unique skill set to Walden’s financial management. She works in consultation with Walden’s Finance Committee, Board of Trustees, CFO, Internal Audit Committee, and various certified public accounts and financial analysts from the private sector.
Internal Audit Committee
The Walden Board of Trustees Internal Audit Committee conducts audits of Walden’s financial policies, procedures, and records and ensures that Walden fulfills all audits. agreed-upon procedures, engagements, and financial reports required by section 51-2a-201 and subsection 53G-5-404(4). During fiscal year 2021-22, our Internal Audit Team includes our Board of Trustees Chief Financial Office and Internal Audit Coordinator, Jennifer Knapp. committee members: Matt Turner, Jodi McCombs, and Sharon Beecroft. and an outside auditor, Joseph Rankin, Financial Analyst for Provo School District.
