Fees + Fee Waivers

Fees Schedule & Fee Waivers 2025-2026

Philosophy

Walden believes that every student should be able to fully participate in all school activities. To that end, we have developed a fee schedule for classes, events, and activities that is as affordable as possible. All curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular fees are waivable.

A student is eligible for a fee waiver if they qualify based on family income levels, as outlined in R277-407-11(1). You may apply for a fee waiver online or using a paper application. These instructions will help you with either process. When a student/family qualifies for fee waivers through the Child Nutrition Program, they can opt to share qualifying information with the School which will automatically qualify them for School Fee Waivers as well.

Walden fee policy and procedure are included as links on this page, along with information on fee waivers for grades K-6 and 7-12. Fee Waiver Applications to be used for the school year are also available.

We want your feedback!

Walden provides opportunities for parents, guardians, and the community to provide input at two governing board meetings before the annual fee schedule is adopted. The next opportunity will be held on May, 16th, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. during the May meeting of the Walden Board of Trustees. (request zoom link from lois@waldenschool.us). You are welcome to share your feedback via email as well at diana@waldenschool.us

Final board review is scheduled during Walden’s June board meeting on June 27th, 2025 at  9:00 a.m. We will meet in the Faculty Lounge of the High School at 4266 N University Avenue. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend this meeting as well. For this meeting, you will need to schedule public comment in advance by contacting lois@waldenschool.us.

Resources

If you think that you might qualify for fee waivers, will you please fill out the free/reduced application linked above to help us ensure Walden’s continued participation in valued programs such as Walden’s CASA After School Clubs & Activities,  Title IA classroom aides, Title IIA professional development for teachers, and our Title IV International Baccalaureate Programme. These essential programs can only be funded when 40% of our families qualify for free/reduced-price meals (whether or not your child eats school meals).  Additionally, when families qualify for free-reduced benefits, all school programs are free or half-price for each child.
