A primary purpose of Title I is to promote parents’ involvement in their child’s education. Under Title I regulations, all schools receiving Title I funds have developed an engagement agreement between school and parents. The agreement is designed to help parents and teachers work together to provide the best possible education for each student. Parents have opportunities throughout the year to engage with their students’ education. Parents are also invited to participate annually in developing Walden School’s Strategic Plan and our Parent and Family Engagement Policy/Student-Parent-Teacher Compact or watch our Title I Meeting Presentation
Parents are an important part of the Title I team and are partners with the school in helping all students achieve. As the parent of a child in a Title I school, you have the right to:
- Be engaged in the planning and implementation of the parent and family engagement policy and program program at Walden
- Ask to read your child’s progress reports.
- Request information about the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher(s), including the degrees and certifications held, and whether the teacher is certified in their respective area of instruction.
